Well, that’s one way to get over things! In a new interview, Kanye was asked — by director Steve McQueen — how exactly he got past that 2009 incident when he cut off Taylor Swift at the VMAs.
And his answer was not at all what you’d expect.
Kanye West knows how to wow us with his interviews. He’s done it a ton of times, and this is no different. There were three things that helped the “Bound 2″ singer move on from the interruption heard around the world.
Kanye West: Sex Helped Me Move On From Taylor Swift Incident
“With what happened after the Taylor Swift incident [at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards] and all the negativity that came your way as the result of that, how did you deal with it all mentally, physically, and spiritually?”Steve McQueen asked Kanye in a new interview with Interview magazine.
“It’s funny that you would say ‘mentally, physically, spiritually,’ because my answer before you even said that was going to be ‘god, sex, and alcohol,’” he said.
“Well, I don’t have an addictive personality, so that means that I can lean on what might be someone else’s vice just enough to make it through to the next day. You know, just enough religion, a half-cup of alcohol with some ice in it and a nice chaser, and then – a lot of sex. And then I’d make it to the next week.”
Well, whatever works, right?
Kanye West Understands Why Taylor Swift Was Hurt
We know that Kanye doesn’t completely blame Taylor for getting upset about the dramatic moment at the MTV Video Music Awards.
“You know what? I would not want some crazy drunk rock star cutting my daughter off also,” he told Ryan Seacreston his KIIS-FM morning show on Oct. 29.
“But, my daughter would 100-percent also be like, ‘Yes Beyoncé did have the best video.’ That’s what my daughter would do!” he added.
Well, maybe so — but she probably wouldn’t have gotten on stage! But, the past is in the past!
