Plus: Aria finally chooses between Ezra and Jake, and Hanna makes a major post-Caleb move!
Alison (Sasha Pieterse) activated the full power of her underground lesbian spy network on the Jan. 21 episode of Pretty Little Liars, using Shana to lure Emily ( Shay Mitchell) into a secret meeting. Their reunion was brief — disappointingly so, after viewers have been extremely patient — but Emily and Ali did finally come face to face, and had Spencer ( Troian Bellisario) not totally ruined the moment, they probably would have kissed.
Not much came of Emily and Ali’s meeting, except Emily now knows that Ali believes “A” is the person who’s been trying to kill her all this time. (Is this news?) I guess we’ll have to wait for the next time Ali decides to reach out to to Emily via Rosewood’s lesbian network, so keep checking the sky for the boob signal, I guess.
Aria Roots For The Wrong Team
Because Aria ( Lucy Hale) remains tragically uninformed about the man behind — or, rather, the man inside — the show’s infamous “board shorts,” she decided to call it quits with Jake (Ryan Guzman) and devote herself to Team Ezra ( Ian Harding) full-time. Even without knowing about Ezra’s “A” connection, I’m still surprised she made that decision. I mean, has she never seenStep Up Revolution? Jake is the very definition of a babe!
Of course, Aria might soon be rethinking her decision after Jake caught Ezra having a heated exchange with “some blonde” in Rosewood, while he claimed to be in Philadelphia. Ezra claimed to be having it out with Maggie’s lawyer, but even Aria — who remains blinded by Ezra’s mighty chiseled jaw — appeared to see through his lies.
Just kidding! Aria and Ezra spent the rest of the episode making out in Ezra’s lair of lies, while Jake found himself knifed in the foot after someone tampered with his boxing bag. I’ve never been so disgusted by the sight of a shirtless, sweaty Jake before! It was very upsetting.
Hanna’s New Manna
Speaking of questionable life decisions, Hanna ( Ashley Benson) attempted to prove that she’s over Caleb ( Tyler Blackburn) by moving on with Travis via a game of touch pool. Travis whipped out the most cliché move in the book, showing Hanna how to properly land the ball — and because Hanna would throw herself at anything that with a pulse at this point, it totally worked. Let the grope-fest begin!
Fortunately, Hanna’s mom (Laura Leighton) busted in to set her straight — anyone who’s seen an episode of Melrose Place knows she’s familiar with bad boys — and took her to do something far more productive: throw glass plates at the wall! Serious question, though: Do most small towns have 24-hour plate-throwing venues, or…?
FroshLifers, were you disappointed by Ali and Emily’s too-short meeting? Do you think Aria made the right decision by picking Ezra? And how do we all feel about Hanna kissing Travis?
